Actualizing Dreams -《Give Dreams a Pair of Wings》 – Ruth House

This academic school year, children of Ruth Home (primary school girls) have a personal growth program – “Give Dreams a Pair of Wings” aims to cultivate their character and self-realization, and encourage them to set personal goals and pursue progress in the four major directions of academics, interpersonal relationships, emotional expression and serving others. The program motivates them to work towards the goal of reaching their dream paradise.

Embark on a wonderful journey (Let’s see the results of their efforts!)

Academics:

Ranked the first in the class in Chinese Listening; Handed in homework every day; Studied very hard before the exam (a few weeks before); Ranked in the top 30 in grades; Ranked the second in Physical Education; Learned a lot of new words

Interpersonal Relationships:

I have many friends at school;those who live in room 1 are all my good friends;I have many friends because I have good manners.

Emotional Expression:

I can calm down a little faster when I am angry; I don’t hit my friends when I am angry; I seldom lost my temper; I don’t lose my temper when doing homework; I do control my emotions; I try to express my emotions; I have progress in my picky eating habits

Serving Others:

I often help classmates and teachers at school; visit care home for the elderly; participate in flag-selling; help others to pour water or remove sundries; comfort others when they are injured

Children learn to work hard for themselves in every endeavor and realize the hard work can make difference for themselves and others.

“A Disney Date – Invitation to Disneyland”

Throughout the entire program, social workers provided guidance and motivation, arranged a reward activity – “A Disney Date – Invitation to Disneyland” to commend the children for their active participation and efforts over the past few months, giving their dreams a pair of wings so that the “little princesses” could go to the castle to play together. When they completed the last piece of the puzzle at home, it meant that everyone had achieved their goal!

Dreams Come True Grateful Diary

We hope that our children are able to express their feelings and learn to be grateful. We invited them to write or draw after the visit to Disneyland to recall the wonderful things that happened. May happiness remain in their hearts and become the driving force for them to face life.

Thank God for making us the children of Ruth House

「Dear God: Thank you for allowing us to achieve our goal and go to Disneyland, the place we all dream of. Actually, achieving our goal is not an easy thing. We all work hard to complete everything, so that we can go to Disneyland happily together in the end. Thank you for sponsoring us. Thank you for bringing us to this world and meeting our family and friends. During my time at Ruth House, I really feel everyone’s kindness, tolerance, and understanding towards me, and feel the meaning of being a human being. There are happy and unhappy moments here, and social workers and parents patiently listen to me and comfort me… Thank you for giving me strength!」(The sharing from Fish)
