Praise God! No matter what challenges we are facing, Evangel Children’s Home is committed to the calling of God to strive for the welfare of children and families in need, to experience His love and justice. We understand that children’s individual behavioural problems can oftentimes be traced back to their families. With this in mind, we launched the Holistic Life Development Centre with a mission to understand and endeavour to meet the needs of families, to give them the hope of having broken lives restored in God’s power.

Future Development of Evangel Children’s Home


Children must leave our Home at the age of 18. However, 18 year olds from fragile or broken families face accommodation problems when they leave and can also feel abandoned and lonely as they start a life on their own. For some family crisis breaks out as some of their family members are struggling from drug addiction or other difficulties. It is our conviction that our intervention is needed and is to focus on both youth and their families in order to promote a healthy and independent generation.

We have commenced an intervention strategy for families in need, especially parents stressed from long working hours, low pay and divorced families. In 2003, we commenced our day care and counselling services. The public showed an amazing interest in the services once they were launched. Later, with the support of the Community Chest of Hong Kong and the Evangelical Free Church of China Lam Tin Church, our daily residential changed to be more comprehensive and the services hours extended to 10:00pm every weekday, weekend and public holiday. We are at capacity and are in need of more space. We would like to build an extension to our building to provide the following services so as to meet the needs of parents and children.

  1. Career counseling, vocational training and life planning services for children in our program.
  2. Family support services so as to prevent further aggravating family problems.
