Background

The family is the cradle of our next healthy generation. It is the foundation of our society. With the love of our Lord Jesus, Evangel Children’s Home never stops providing residential care services to children and youth in need. It is our conviction that children’s behavioural patterns are shaped by their family’s interaction.

The purpose of the establishment of Day Care Services is to cater to the needs of families comprehensively; to heel those broken hearts. Let sorrow turn into blessing. Let God be praised.

Under the generous sponsorship of our donors, we commenced a renovation project for the establishment of the Day Care Services. In 2003, we launched an after-school day care and counselling service. The public showed amazing response to the services once they were launched. Later, the Community Chest of Hong Kong shared the same vision with us and committed sponsorship of $1,600,000 for us to further extend our day care services for three years. With the further support of the Evangelical Free Church of China Lam Tin Church, our service hours extended to 10:00pm every weekday, weekend and public holiday. These well-rounded services further strengthen the coherence of those fragile families.

Day Care Services

Aim :

1. "Family Oriented"- To strengthen family coherence so as to reduce the detachment of children and their families.
   
2. "Children Oriented"- To encourage holistic development.
   
3. "Community Oriented"- To strengthen family supporting network in the communit.

1. After school care, tutorial classes, recreational activities.
2. Play groups on weekends (including Sundays) for developing personal conduct and social skills.
3. Religious and moral educational programs with the participation of churches in the community.
4. Training and sharing groups, workshops and face to face interviews for improving parental skills.
5. Casework and professional counseling for parents and children for the prevention of family crisis.
6. Emergency outpatient escorting services.
7. Temporary accommodation and crisis intervention for family emergencies We offer 24hour service for children in emergency situations.

Target Group:

1. Full-time primary students with good mental and physical health.
2. Children from low income famines who lack daily care.

1. Monday to Friday (School Day), 3:00pm to 10:00pm.
2. Saturday, Sunday, Public and School Holiday, 8:00amto 10:00pm.

1. free of charge for families whose income is below 50% of the median monthly domestic household income.
2. $500 for families whose income is below 75% but above 50% of the median monthly domestic household income.
